Big Business – “Always Never Know When To Quit” (Stereogum Premiere)

From: stereogum

Cheeky Melvins/Karp/Murder City Devils/White Shit/etc-associated sludge-rock heroes Big Business are celebrating the late 2010 addition of fourth member, guitarist Scott Martin of Crom/400 Blows, and upcoming tour with aesthetic allies Torche by following 2009′s Mind The Drift with the Quadruple Single 12″ EP on their very own, recently launched new label Gold Metal. As the EP’s title suggests, it’s four songs, each strong enough to be its own single. Get a taste via mighty opener “Always Never Know When To Quit.”

Big Business – “Always Never Know When To Quit”
“Quadruple Single” tracklist:

01 “Always Never Know When To Quit”
02 “Ice-Cold War”
03 “City Ham”
04 “Guns”

Quadruple Single is out 7/26 via Gold Metal. For the upcoming tour Martin will be handling the guitar, the quartet acting like a power trio again. Other guitarist Toshi Kasai will be elsewhere:

After a long talk where the Biz stayed up all night crying, Toshi decided that he needed to stay home and honor some recording obligations. They wish he could come, but they’ll be sure to do something creepy to acknowledge his absence like leave his guitar on stage with a fog machine blowing ethereal smoke at it’s base, implying that Toshi is playing with them from another realm. They’re probably too lazy to pull that off, but Toshi wishes Coady, Jared, and Scott a safe trip anyway.

"Toshi Fest," featured the Skivies, with Action Friend and Osyluth

Three of four bands I produced last September had a show for their album releases, called Toshi Fest. I was watching the show through Skype. I thought they did a great job. Here is a review of the show.

Kudos, indeed!
