Mixing Brothers Collateral debut album

It's been almost one year since I recorded basic tracks with a L.A. based band, Brothers Collateral for their debut album. Finally, we are back to work on it. It's time for mixing awesome tracks at Nephews Closet.

先日、PageからLAを発つ前日に、”なんでチャップリンが日本の千円札に載っているんだ？”とくだらないメールが入って来た。空港に向かう途中からもメールが入って来た。15年ぶりの日本にかなり興奮しているようだ。

今晩、9月13日がその日。ライブに対してのその彼らの自信は嫌と言うほど聞かされた。一度だけしか観た事がないが、その言いっぷりは決して大袈裟なものではなく、正直、圧倒された。そんな彼らのライブを是非観て欲しい。

Action Friend open for Melt Banana

Once again, Denver legend, Action Friend will open for Melt Banana 10/8 @ Larimer Lounge.

In 2007, Deaf Nephews(Dale Crover and me) produced thier frist full length album, and last fall, I went to Denver to record their second album and mixed it this spring.

I assume it will be crowded because it's a Melt Banana show. Action friend is awesome as well, so get there early to see Action Friend.

Also, they are looking for a bass player. There is a chance you play in front of a huge crowd!

Synesthesia Mandala

I had a meeting with my old friend, Vince DeFranco, at his office last week. Vince has been making Synesthesia Mandala drums for years. The drums have been Danny Carey's secret weapons for live and recording. He showed the depth of the drums and their software "Virtual Brain". The drums are not typical drum pads. I have been learning about the software since the meeting. Since I am not a drummer, I use this software some different purposes. Vince gave me some tips and some modifications to me!!! This would be my secret weapon, soon.

Hurry Up Shotgun: the release date and a show

Last April, I produced an album for a rock band from the bay area, Hurry Up Shotgun. The album, called "Hurry Up Shotgun", will be released October 7th. You can stream a couple songs from the album at http://hurryup.bandcamp.com/.
